Job Title: Senior Engineer Fixed
Transmission
Location: Abuja, NG
Job Summary
Supervise 3rd party transmission services providers, provide support for field maintenance teams, and conduct timely analyses of (as well as proffer solutions to) repetitive and protracted transmission faults
Principal Functions
Provide high level technical support for regional
field maintenance teams in the resolution of
transmission faults
Provide deep analyses and solutions to repetitive and protracted transmission faults affecting network quality and availability
Manage the timely and correct implementation
of duly approved work orders and network change requests in line with applicable processes
Supervise 3rd party transmission services providers and ensure adherence to company specifications
Maintain and update comprehensive transmission database
Prepare weekly and monthly reports on transmission performance, availability and fault analysis
Monitor and ensure adherence to agreed SLAs by vendors such as leased line providers
Support operation and maintenance of multiplexers in a multi-vendor environment
Support operation and maintenance of optical fibre transmission networks
Support operation and maintenance of PDH and
SDH microwave radio systems
Educational Requirements
First degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
Experience, Skills & Competencies
At least four (4) years directly relevant post-NYSC work experience in PDH and SDH microwave radios installation, commissioning,operation and maintenance
Ideal candidate must also be able to
demonstrate:
Excellent skills in multiplexer administration,
operation and maintenance in a multi-vendor
environment
Good troubleshooting skills and ability to interface with different groups such as field support, vendor back office and surveillance groups from various technologies
Excellent skills in deployment, operation and
maintenance of optical fibre transmission
networks
