Job Summary
The Assistant Dynamic Positioning Operator
(ADPO) operates the automated and fixed
station keeping system of the vessel.
Key Responsibilities:
Among other responsibilities, he is expected to
Operate the dynamic positioning (DP)
equipment under the direction of the Sr. DPO,
DPO or Chief Mate.
Operate and understand the Ballast Control
System, Power Management System and Fire
and Gas Detection Systems.
Maintain the vessel in a stable condition and at
the correct draft and trim.
Assist in setting up the DP System operational
parameters.
Assist with running and maintaining records for
hydrophones and subsea beacons.
Assist with performing preventative
maintenance on the DP equipment.
Stand navigational watch as required.
Qualifications & Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent
1 - 4yrs working experience
Mandatory Certification for ADPO
Nautical Institute DP Course & DPO Cert
Valid Medical Examination
